Bringing ancient history to life through the world’s first permanent L‑Acoustics L‑ISA museum installation.

Located at one of the world’s most significant archaeological destinations, the Ephesus Experience Museum was created to transport visitors thousands of years back in time and let them experience the story of ancient Ephesus through a fully immersive audiovisual journey.
To achieve this ambitious vision, Asimetrik designed and deployed a state‑of‑the‑art L‑Acoustics L‑ISA immersive audio system, creating a hyperreal sound environment that seamlessly integrates with the museum’s visual storytelling. The Ephesus Experience Museum became the first museum installation in the world to use L‑ISA as the foundation of a permanent visitor experience.

Unlike traditional reinforcement systems, L‑ISA enables sound to be spatially positioned and moved through the environment. Visitors do not simply hear the content — they experience it as part of the physical space around them. Sounds emerge from specific locations, travel naturally through the room, and interact with visual elements to create an extraordinary level of realism.

Working closely with the creative teams responsible for the museum experience, Asimetrik engineered a 360° immersive soundscape spanning multiple exhibition spaces. The system was carefully integrated into the architectural design, ensuring maximum performance while remaining visually discreet.
Visitors can hear the distant sounds of a bustling ancient city, feel the impact of dramatic historical events, and become emotionally connected to the narrative unfolding around them. The project demonstrates how advanced audio technologies can extend far beyond concert halls and theaters — letting museums create entirely new forms of storytelling that engage audiences on a deeper level.
