Reimagining the electroacoustic experience of a world-class performance venue.
World-class performance venues demand more than powerful loudspeakers — they require a carefully engineered relationship between architecture, acoustics, and electroacoustic systems.
In 2023, Asimetrik was commissioned to evaluate and improve the sound reinforcement system at CSO Ada Ankara, one of Türkiye's most prestigious concert venues. Although the venue featured remarkable architectural and acoustic characteristics, the existing sound system was limiting the listening experience for certain performance types. Audience coverage, tonal consistency, and overall system integration required a comprehensive review to fully unlock the venue's potential.
Measurement-driven engineering
The project began with an extensive measurement and analysis process. Asimetrik's engineering team conducted detailed electroacoustic assessments throughout the venue, evaluating system performance, audience coverage, intelligibility, frequency response, and interaction with the hall's architectural acoustics.
A new design with L-Acoustics
Based on these findings, a completely new sound reinforcement design was developed in close collaboration with L-Acoustics. Every aspect of the system was engineered to complement the venue's unique architectural geometry while preserving the acoustic integrity of the performance space. Special attention was given to achieving consistent coverage across all audience areas, ensuring that every listener would experience the same level of clarity, balance, and immersion regardless of seating position.

Beyond sound pressure
Unlike conventional installation projects, the objective was not simply to increase sound pressure levels. The goal was to create an electroacoustic system capable of supporting a wide range of performance formats — from symphonic productions and orchestral performances to amplified concerts, conferences, and special events — while respecting the acoustic character of the hall.
